Homemade Beef Jerky
ingredients: beef
marinade: 75 ml Worcestershire sauce, 150 ml soy sauce, 3 cloves of garlic (pressed), 0,5 tsp. salt, 1,5 tsp. pepper, 3 tbsp. ketchup
directions:
1. Mix all ingredients for the marinade.
2. I bought beef roulade (Rinderrouladen), so the beef was already cut in 3-5 mm slices. Then I cut the beef in 3-4 cm wide strips.
3. Add the beef to the marinade and mix well to make sure everything is covered with the marinade. Let it rest in the fridge for 4-12 hours. I let it rest over night.
4. Before putting the beef strips on trays I dried them on a paper towel.
5. Put all trays in the dehydrator and turn it on at 70° C.
6. I checked the beef after 6 hours and let it dry another hour.
After 7 hours in the dehydrator I got 315 g Beef Jerky from 880 g beef.
I was worried it might not taste good but I really like my first batch of homemade Beef Jerky. Not sure how long it will last though. 😉
