My lunch. Käsespätzle – Spätzle mixed with grated cheese and fried onion. Spätzle are a type of egg noodle of soft texture.

Schupfnudeln with green beans

Schupfnudel (meaning rolled noodle) is the name of a type of dumpling or thick noodle in southern German and Austrian cuisine, similar to the more internationally familiar Italian gnocchi. (Information taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schupfnudel)
They are made of potatoes, but I did not make them myself. I bought them in supermarket and just put them in my new non-stick frying pan. 🙂

turkey hen with vegetables

It’s been a while since the last post. Let’s try something new, shall we?

Today we’re making fried turkey hen with vegetables.

The ingredients are 250g turkey hen, 150g champignons, 100g red pepper, 100g tomatoes and 200g mung bean sprouts. I used some salt and pepper to flavor the turkey and the most important ingredient today is soya sauce. I’ve recently tried it for the first time ever and I think it’s really good.

By the way, I haven’t used any oil in this recipe. If you want to fry meat or vegetables with water instead of oil (to reduce calories/fat) you need a non-stick frying pan. It works!

If this sounds like too much vegetables, you could cook some rice or mie noodles and add them. I haven’t tried it yet, but I certainly will. 🙂
